The Beauty of an Inward Winter

Those who know us well don’t wish a Merry Xmas or a Happy Holiday, they ask how our health is. Since we’re not raising Adela in the tradition of cultural holidays/christian holidays/consumer holidays, we have the luxury of creating exactly what we desire this time of year and all year round. We basically celebrate Birthdays. The rhythm of these is so easy, so natural, so aligned with how the body expands and contracts and celebrates it’s almost astonishing to me that anyone should squeeze into the rigidity of a consumer holiday calendar.

But, most of our family and friends do and we so enjoy their joy. My best friend from college (Angela of Nourishment Connection) sends us a box of her amazing, homemade assorted cookies from PA every year and my sisters manage to create the most warm and beautifully detailed holiday gatherings for those around them in NYC, so far be it for me to complain about tradition.

This year I chose to dive deep, receiving one of the most powerful massage, brain pattern and energetic release sessions of my life Friday before Solstice, so powerful that it put me in bed for a full day afterward and had me walking bent forward, tender around all my organs, holding my ribs from 11:30 at night to 5 in the morning. To enhance his already effective work, Muhammad used a pure crystal the size of my forearm. How could such a lovely thing bring so much crazy pain afterwards.

Unknown to me, I had met the woman who provided that crystal a week before but did not realize that this was in her realm, so thank you Mara, not only does Adela adore you and want to play forks with you again, sing and dance, but let us gather around your amazing collection soon.

As the sun begins her trek back toward earth, the real glitter and sparkles are everywhere, day and night, with no wires and batteries. I look at the tropical sage and passion vine readying themselves to grow again in our private courtyard while the voice of my dearest and truest friend, Kimberly, resonates over the phone. I truly don’t know what I’d do without you, what a gift that you’re in our lives and at this exact time in the history of all that ever was. Can you believe we came back to witness the sound of this lifting heart beat? In the rocks and stones, my dearest friend, where in the world will we explore next?

Bruno and Adela have been divine all this time. Cheers to an inward winter in forward motion.

One of Adela's best friends was at the CB parade this year. We drive by Gator Mini Golf frequently just so she can wave. This was a treat.

About MB

Of all the choices I've made in life, the one that has had a lasting wonderment about it has been to toss out any emphasis on living in a material world. Dropping out of the chattel race in America opens up the extraordinary. Rock on, fellow drop outs. Oh, and motherhood is the greatest journey ever! heartyup@gmail.com
