Audioasis: KEXP features NW music and charity
“KEXP understands the power of its listeners. The staff members reach people at a deeper level than your average radio station. Humans crave companionship whether it’s sharing that experience of how a good song can affect you, or working together for a common goal. KEXP understands the intrinsic need for community.” – Julia Aaker, Development Assistant
Audioasis is KEXP’s long-running Northwest music show hosted by Hannah Levin. Audioasis delivers three hours of local and live bands from all areas and genres of the Northwest. On Audioasis, you’ll hear the new, the old, the demos, the vinyl, and the future of Northwest music. Every first Saturday of the month you can catch Audioasis at The Sunset Tavern in Ballard LIVE! Tune in Saturday from 6-9 PM. On the radio or online streaming at the KEXP website.
Past hosts have included Jonathen Poneman, Jason Hughes, Scott Vanderpool, Stevie Zoom, Lisa Wood, Abe Beeson and Sean Nelson. John Richards is the Executive Producer of the show and Sharlese Metcalf is the Producer.
Audioasis shows are the first Saturday of the month and benefit The Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle. This program in collaboration with over 130 organizations distributes 15 different varieties of nutritionally balanced, culturally appropriate, and diet specific food bags to hungry individuals and families throughout King County.
